Basketball Recap: Warsaw Takes a Loss

After flying high against Rich Hill last Thursday, Warsaw came back down to earth. The Warsaw Wildcats took a blow against the El Dorado Springs Bulldogs on Thursday, falling 62-26. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 244th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 53rd).

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tanna Howe, who posted nine points. Another player making a difference was Jenna Gerken, who scored six points.

Warsaw has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 13-10 record this season. As for El Dorado Springs, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-6.

Coming up, Warsaw won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Butler at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for El Dorado Springs, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll challenge Adrian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
