Softball Recap: Lutheran North Extends Winning Streak to Seven

11 must be Lutheran North's lucky number: they beat Warren Woods-Tower with that score not once but twice on Saturday. The Mustangs blew past the Titans 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Lutheran North's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Megan Rocker, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave Rocker a new career-high. Another was Natalie Gerbino, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Lutheran North was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Warren Woods-Tower only posted a batting average of .211.

The victory (which was Lutheran North's seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.9 runs over those games. As for Warren Woods-Tower, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lutheran North will challenge St. Ursula Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Warren Woods-Tower, they will square off against Port Huron Northern at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
