Volleyball Recap: Encina Comes Up Short

Encina was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Leroy Greene Academy Lions. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2017.

Yasmin Mohammadi paced Encina's offense, picking up four kills. Mohammadi got some help from Nyla Pomtong and her six assists. Nicole Aguilar Umanzor controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Encina's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Leroy Greene Academy, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Encina wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Ben Holt College Prep Academy on the 6th. As for Leroy Greene Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 win against Franklin on the 6th.
