Basketball Game Preview: Mission College Prep Royals vs. Central Grizzlies

Mission College Prep hasn't had much luck against Central recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Mission College Prep Royals will face off against the Central Grizzlies at 8:00 p.m. Mission College Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine contests -- so hopefully Central likes a good challenge.

Mission College Prep is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top against Frontier by a score of 67-55. Given the Royals' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 75th, while the Titans are ranked 283rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Central waltzed into their match on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They took down the Panthers 71-54.

Mission College Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.5 points over those games. Central's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-12.

Mission College Prep came up short against Central when the teams last played back in December of 2021, falling 63-58. Thankfully for Mission College Prep, Marquise Green (who posted 22 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
