Softball Recap: Dover Comes Up Short

Dover was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 17-4 to the Mayflower Eagles. If the Pirates were looking for revenge after losing 15-0 to the Eagles when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Dover's loss dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Mayflower, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Dover is set to challenge their familiar foe Two Rivers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Mayflower will square off against rival Perryville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Eagles 4, the Mustangs 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
