Basketball Recap: Jay Massa's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Moorpark over Oak Park

Moorpark lost against Oak Park back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Moorpark Musketeers lost 84-64 to the Oak Park Eagles. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (56), the Musketeers still had to take the loss.

Several Musketeers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jay Massa, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc on his way to 22 points. The dominant performance gave Massa a new career-high in points. Tyson Howarth was another key player, going 6 of 11 en route to 17 points.

Moorpark has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for Oak Park, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-15 record this season.

Moorpark didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 77-29 defeat against Camarillo on the 24th. Oak Park has also already played their next matchup, a 53-47 loss against Royal on the 22nd.
