Basketball Recap: Guthrie Comes Up Short

Guthrie was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 38-25 to the East Central Cardinals.

Guthrie's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for East Central, the victory snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 4-10 record.

Guthrie and East Central could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings. Guthrie will challenge Kingfisher at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday down 362 places (388 vs. 26). Similarly, East Central (ranked 319th) will meet Kiefer (ranked 44th) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
