Volleyball Recap: Manchester Falls to Piketon in First Game of Season

Manchester unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Piketon Redstreaks on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Greyhounds in their meetings with the Redstreaks: they've now lost three in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-14, 25-11.

Bristynn McClanahan paced Manchester's offense, picking up four kills. McClanahan got some help from Abby Lucas and her 13 assists. Hayden Rideout controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Saydi Childers had an outrageously good game for Piketon as she had nine digs and eight aces. Those eight aces gave Childers a new career-high.

Piketon has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Manchester has already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Whiteoak on the 21st. As for Piketon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against River Valley on the 21st.
