Baseball Recap: Baldwin Park Has No Trouble Against Sierra Vista

Baldwin Park never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past the Sierra Vista Dons 21-0. The result was nothing new for the Braves, who have now won six games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Isaiah Montes was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over five innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Isaiah Felix and Matthew Chavez did most of the damage at the plate: Felix went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Chavez scored three runs while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Chavez a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Thomas Beltran, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5.

Baldwin Park always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sierra Vista only posted an OBP of .276.

Baldwin Park has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Sierra Vista, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-11.

Baldwin Park will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Dons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
