Softball Game Preview: Abington Galloping Ghosts vs. Wissahickon Trojans

The Abington Galloping Ghosts will head out on the road to face off against the Wissahickon Trojans at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Abington managed to slip by Upper Dublin the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Abington came up short against Upper Dublin on Thursday, falling 8-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Galloping Ghosts have suffered since April 11, 2024.

Abington saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sammi Clewell, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Wissahickon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 13-1 to William Tennent.

Julia Lentz made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. Giuliana Schumann also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Abington's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Wissahickon, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Everything went Abington's way against Wissahickon when the teams last played back in April of 2023, as Abington made off with a 17-4 win. Will Abington repeat their success, or does Wissahickon has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
