Softball Game Preview: Westview Wildcats vs. Sunset Apollos

The Westview Wildcats will take on the Sunset Apollos at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Westview will be strutting in after a victory while Sunset will be coming in after a loss.

Westview will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Friday, then bounced right back against Beaverton on Monday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Beavers. The Wildcats not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 19th (when they won 15-0).

Meanwhile, Sunset faced Mountainside in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Apollos fell just short of the Mavericks by a score of 1-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Apollos were not able to get on the board.

Westview's win bumped their record up to 3-10. As for Sunset, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-7.

Westview couldn't quite finish off Sunset when the teams last played back in May of 2025 and fell 2-0. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
