Basketball Recap: Lick-Wilmerding Takes a Loss

Lick-Wilmerding was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 47-45 heartbreaker at the hands of the Balboa Buccaneers. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Buccaneers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2021.

Alan Ly continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Balboa, almost dropping a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds. The game was Ly's sixth in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Lorenzo Manna, who posted six points and five boards.

Lick-Wilmerding's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Balboa, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Lick-Wilmerding has already played their next matchup, a 65-47 win against Aragon on the 12th. As for Balboa, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 52-30 loss against Galileo on the 12th.
