Basketball Recap: Northern Adirondack Victorious

Northern Adirondack won the last time they faced Peru and things went their way on Friday too. The Northern Adirondack Bobcats narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Peru Nighthawks 55-53. Given the Bobcats' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 342nd, while the Nighthawks are ranked 715th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Peru's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chase Caron, who posted four points along with nine boards and seven steals. Camden Sweeney was another key player, going 6 of 10 en route to 15 points.

Northern Adirondack's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Peru, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Northern Adirondack has already played their next game, a 74-53 defeat against Moriah on the 9th. As for Peru, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 46-35 victory against AuSable Valley on the 7th.
