Basketball Recap: Cristian Moore's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Ocean View over West

Ocean View won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Saturday. They lost 74-54 to the West Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Seahawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1024th, while the Warriors are ranked 378th).

Several Seahawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cristian Moore, who posted 11 points and six rebounds. Those six boards gave Moore a new career-high. Cavin Flanagan was another key player, putting up ten points.

Ocean View has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-19 record this season. As for West, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ocean View will welcome Katella at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Ocean View is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.5 points per game this season. West has already played their next contest (against South), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
