Softball Recap: Oakton Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Oakton can now relate to. They came up short against the Langley Saxons on Monday, falling 9-1. The loss continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Saxons: they've now lost six in a row.

Oakton's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Langley, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.

Oakton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Langley, they will take on James Madison at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Warhawks' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Saxons' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
