Basketball Recap: East Valley Falcons vs. Northridge Academy Pumas
The East Valley Falcons struggled with assists on Friday (the Northridge Academy Pumas had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. East Valley ended up on the wrong side of a tough 66-40 walloping at the hands of the Pumas. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for East Valley in their matchups with the Pumas: they've now lost nine in a row.
Despite the loss, East Valley saw an underclassman step up: Eero Wolfe scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and seven blocks. Wolfe is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last 12 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Lukas Carone, who scored 15 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northridge Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caleb LaMadrid, who scored 14 points along with five assists and two steals. Marquis Jiles was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds.
East Valley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-7 record this season. As for Northridge Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-10.
East Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Northridge Academy also has no future games currently scheduled.
