Baseball Recap: Blue Valley Northwest Gets the Win

Blue Valley Northwest let Carthage stack six runs on them in the fifth inning on Saturday but luckily Blue Valley Northwest prevailed anyway. The Huskies had just enough and edged out the Tigers 8-7. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Huskies.

Marshall Awtry was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Nathan Troutner was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Blue Valley Northwest kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Blue Valley Northwest's victory bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Carthage, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-9.

Blue Valley Northwest will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Blue Springs South at 4:30 p.m. on the 15th. As for Carthage, they will challenge Republic at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
