Softball Recap: Portland Highlanders vs. Morgan Huskies
There's no place like home for Portland, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Morgan Huskies a 14-0 shutout on Monday. That looming 14-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Highlanders yet this season.
Rowyn Kootz made a splash while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Kootz was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and one stolen base.
