Baseball Recap: Thursday's Loss Ends Northeastern's Winning Streak

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Northeastern can now relate to. They fell just short of the Centerville Bulldogs by a score of 9-8 on Thursday. The Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 9-2.

Kaleb Kress made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Johnson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

With the defeat, Northeastern broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-7. As for Centerville, their record is now 5-12.

Northeastern does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Centerville, they will square off against Shenandoah at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 10.4 runs per game this season.
