Lawrence County has gone a perfect 3-0 against Tylertown recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Lawrence County Cougars will welcome the Tylertown Chiefs at 6:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Things were looking good for Lawrence County after they put the first points on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of St. Andrew's Episcopal by a score of 11-10. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Caden Case was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Case was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February of 2024.

In other batting news, Hunter Turner was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of JaKobe Haynes, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.
Even though they lost, Lawrence County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now hit at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Tylertown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Bowling Green, falling 11-1.
Lawrence County now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Tylertown, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Everything went Lawrence County's way against Tylertown in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as Lawrence County made off with a 10-0 victory. Does Lawrence County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Tylertown turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
