Basketball Recap: Addie Davis Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Williamstown

It's playoff time, and St. Marys had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 43-35 win over the Williamstown Yellowjackets on Wednesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last seven times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

St. Marys got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Addie Davis out in front who posted 13 points and five rebounds. Davis is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last nine games she's played. Laney Watkins was another key player, going 5-for-9 to rack up 10 points.

St. Marys has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. With the defeat, Williamstown broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 18-6.

Looking ahead, St. Marys will take on Ritchie County at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ritchie County will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something St. Marys surely won't give up without a fight. Williamstown does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
