Soccer Game Preview: West Ridge vs. Providence Academy

The West Ridge Wolves will venture away from home to square off against Providence Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. West Ridge's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

West Ridge took a loss when they played away from home last Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Daniel Boone, sneaking past 1-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but West Ridge were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Providence Academy was forced to settle for a draw. Neither they nor Unicoi County could gain the upper hand on Thursday so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

With that draw, Providence Academy's record moves to 5-3-1. As for West Ridge, they now have a winning record of 4-3-3.

West Ridge came up short against Providence Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 2-0. Can Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
