If Fairfax HomeSchool beats Trinity Christian with 15 runs on Thursday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Hawks didn't even let Bullis on the board on Tuesday, marking the Hawks' second-straight 15-0 shutout. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by seven runs or more this season.
Madison Shaw and Lydia Kim made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Shaw struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Kim tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in eight consecutive appearances. At bat, Shaw went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Kim went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madelyn Shaw, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Sadie Haas, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Trinity Christian gave up the first runs last Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over Seton. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Gryphons.
Fairfax HomeSchool pushed their record up to 11-0 with the win, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average this season. As for Trinity Christian, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Fairfax HomeSchool took their win against Trinity Christian in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 11-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
