Basketball Recap: Robstown Takes a Loss

Robstown lost against Jones back in December of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Robstown Cottonpickers came up short against the Jones Trojans, falling 75-51. The Cottonpickers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Robstown still got an impressive performance from Cameron Dominguez, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 boards. Those 22 points gave Dominguez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tim Sanchez, who posted 15 points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Robstown smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Robstown's record now sits at 3-18. As for Jones, they now have a winning record of 12-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Robstown will venture away from home to square off against Harmony School of Excellence at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Jones, they will head out to face off against Sinton at 7:30 p.m. on January 14th.
