Azle is 8-2 against Brewer since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Hornets will welcome the Bears at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Azle took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Haltom, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Hornets won by a run and slipped past the Buffalos 2-1. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Hornets as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Brewer). They put the hurt on Crowley with a sharp 14-2 victory on Saturday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Bears needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Tanner Pierce and Nick Johnson dominated on the mound. Pierce tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits, while Johnson tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave Johnson a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

On the hitting side, Logan Shires was a standout: he scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Jesse Orozco was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Azle's win bumped their record up to 13-11. As for Brewer, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.

Azle came up short against Brewer when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 5-2. Can the Hornets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
