Lafayette waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Maryville Spoofhounds 54-26. Given the Fighting Irish's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while the Spoofhounds are ranked 159th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lafayette's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.3 points over those games. As for Maryville, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 10-8.

Lafayette wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 65-22 victory against Cameron on the 7th. As for Maryville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 53-47 defeat against Smithville on the 6th.
