Basketball Game Preview: Corydon Central Panthers vs. Southwestern Rebels

Corydon Central has won five straight games at home, while Southwestern has won five straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Saturday. The Corydon Central Panthers will host the Southwestern Rebels at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Corydon Central is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Charlestown just ended the team's eight-game winning streak on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 43-42 to the Pirates.

Meanwhile, Southwestern unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 73-57 bruising from Brownstown Central. While losing is never fun, the Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Braves are ranked 27th).

Corydon Central will need focus on slowing down Brady Cook, one of several Southwestern players who made an impact when they last played. He went 7 for 10 on his way to 19 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Braxton Lewis, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 15 points.

Southwestern's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Corydon Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-2.
