Basketball Recap: Sharpstown Apollos vs. Westbury Huskies
Sharpstown had lost four straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped down to 5-14 to make it five. They lost 64-38 to the Westbury Huskies. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Huskies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 82-40 back in December of 2025.
As for Westbury, their victory bumped their record up to 16-9. The final result isn't all that surprising considering their considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 665th, while Sharpstown is ranked 1519th).
Lepaul Warren continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 50% from the field en route to 23 points and four steals. What's more, he also posted a 56% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2025. Mayowa Olatoto was another key player, going 5-for-6 on his way to 11 points.
We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Sharpstown is set to take on their familiar foe Austin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Westbury will square off against rival Galena Park at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
