Mar Vista dropped their record down to 12-12 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Chula Vista Spartans by a score of 3-2. The Mariners were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2020.

Mar Vista saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Daniel Snow, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

As for Chula Vista, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9-2 record this season. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since April 6, 2024.

On Chula Vista's side, Jorge Lopez tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 6.1 innings pitched. Lopez also tossed a walk, which is notable because the Spartans are 6-1-2 when he allows at most one walk, but 7-8 otherwise.

While Mar Vista had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
