Football Recap: Millennium Tigers vs. Desert Edge Scorpions

A win for Millennium just wasn't in the cards on Friday as the team wasn't able to take the lead at any point. They had to suffer through a 40-13 loss at the hands of the Desert Edge Scorpions. The Tigers have struggled against the Scorpions recently, as their game on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Although Millennium took the loss, they still got scores from Donovan Delong and Isaiah Salinas.

A big part of Desert Edge's victory came down to the chemistry between Blake Roskopf and his top target David Cabrera. Roskopf threw for 388 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.1 yards per attempt while Cabrera picked up 188 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Cabrera showed off some serious burst, connecting on a big catch for 66 yards.

Millennium's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Desert Edge, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 3-3 record this season.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when Tigers challenges Canyon View at 7:00 p.m. on October 18th. They are strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 27.8 points per game this season. After each having a week off, Desert Edge and Sunrise Mountain will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on October 18th.
