Lincoln had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Chiles Timberwolves on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but the Trojans sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.

Nate Dietz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jayson Parker, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Tyson Bailey also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Lincoln lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Lincoln's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-9. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Chiles, their loss dropped their record down to 17-13.

Lincoln will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Timberwolves: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
