Baseball Recap: Dwyer Finds Playoff Glory Versus Martin County

It's playoff time, and Dwyer had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Martin County Tigers on Thursday. That's two games straight that the Panthers have won by exactly three runs.

Dom Pecoraro made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (two). He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Colten Stephens was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Dwyer's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 8-10 when he doesn't).

The victory made it two in a row for Dwyer and bumps their season record up to 13-10. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Martin County, with the defeat, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 18-8.

As of now, neither Dwyer nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
