Recap: Holt Ironmen vs. Tuscaloosa Academy Knights
The Holt Ironmen 's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. Their rough 39-16 loss to Tuscaloosa Academy might stick with them for a while. Holt was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-0.
Tuscaloosa Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Preston Lancaster out in front who threw for 289 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.9% of his passes. Lancaster hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicholas (nic) evans, who rushed for 51 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries.
Tuscaloosa Academy's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. Holt's QB won't forget Jeffrey Coleman anytime soon given Coleman sacked him six times.
Holt's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Tuscaloosa Academy, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.
Holt does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Tuscaloosa Academy will look to defend their home field on Friday against Red Bay at 7:00 p.m. Red Bay is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
