Basketball Recap: Contra Costa Christian Victorious

If Emery wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Contra Costa Christian, they should've done a better job of containing Carson Faber. The Contra Costa Christian Cougars walked away with a 63-55 win over the Emery Spartans on Friday thanks in part to Faber, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 11 boards. The match was his seventh in a row with at least ten points.

Gerrit Johnston was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 17 rebounds. He has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 24 times he's played.

Contra Costa Christian's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Emery, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-6.

Contra Costa Christian will venture away from home to face off against Valley Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Emery, they will take on Averroes at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
