Baseball Game Preview: Amherst-Pelham Regional Hurricanes vs. Ware Indians

The Amherst-Pelham Regional Hurricanes will venture away from home to face off against the Ware Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Amherst-Pelham Regional has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 13.

Southwick Regional hit Amherst-Pelham Regional with a 13-run fifth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Hurricanes came up short against the Rams, falling 14-3.

Amherst-Pelham Regional saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nate Ziomek, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. That double was Ziomek's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Ware suffered their closest defeat since April 27, 2024 on Sunday. They fell just short of Taconic by a score of 6-4. The loss was the Indians' first of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Ware fell to 12-1. As for Amherst-Pelham Regional, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Amherst-Pelham Regional has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Ware struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Amherst-Pelham Regional might still be hurting after the 10-1 defeat they got from Ware when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Hurricanes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
