Baseball Recap: New Castle Triumphs

New Castle lost to Hagerstown back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Trojans came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 10-6. New Castle's victory was all the more impressive since the Tigers were averaging only 3.25 runs allowed on the season.

Cormac Stillwell was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dylan Blackford, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

New Castle's win bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Hagerstown, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-4.

Looking ahead, New Castle will welcome Mt. Vernon at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hagerstown, they will venture away from home to square off against Wapahani at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
