After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Jones County, Piedmont Academy was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Gatewood Gators. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Gators: they've now won four in a row.

Piedmont Academy's got stronger as the match went on, holding Gatewood to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-20, 25-15.

Piedmont Academy's victory bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Gatewood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Piedmont Academy will head out to face off against Eagle's Landing at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Gatewood, they will venture away from home to square off against Westminster Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
