Basketball Recap: Seligman Antelopes vs. Red Mesa Redskins
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Seligman). Everything went their way against the Red Mesa Redskins on Friday as the Seligman Antelopes made off with a 97-71 win. The Antelopes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matches by 21 points or more this season.

Seligman had a senior duo take command as Carmelo Manakaja dropped a double-double with 34 points and ten rebounds and Montae Walker almost dropped a double-double with 28 points and nine boards. Walker is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 51 games he's played dating back to last season. Hunter Silas was another key player, going 6-for-14 on his way to 16 points and three steals.
Seligman smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January of 2024.
Jonah Herbert and Jovun Paul certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Herbert dropped a double-double with 24 points and 14 boards, while Paul almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine rebounds. Paul continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Devyn John, who posted eight points and five rebounds.
Seligman has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.7 points over those games. As for Red Mesa, their record now sits at 16-14.
Looking ahead, Seligman will face off against Williams at 7:00 p.m. on February 21st. Williams knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Seligman likes a good challenge. Red Mesa does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
