Baseball Preview: South Fork Bulldogs vs. Conifer Lobos

South Fork proved they can win big on Monday (they won by nine) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Prairie View 5-3.
Meanwhile, Conifer had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They never let Montbello get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory last Monday.
Casey Rummell made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mason Murphy, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits. Luke Adams was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-5.
Conifer always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .585. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Montbello only posted an OBP of .111.
The win got South Fork back to even at 7-7. As for Conifer, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
