Baseball Recap: Gadsden Takes a Loss

Gadsden was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Las Cruces Bulldawgs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldawgs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-0 last Monday.

Gadsden saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alonso Rodriguez, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Dominick Hernandez was another, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Gadsden's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10-1. As for Las Cruces, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Las Cruces beat Gadsden by a score of 2-0 later that day.
