Baseball Recap: Lake Norman Charter Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

There's no place like home for Lake Norman Charter, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against the South Rowan Raiders by a score of 8-3 on Monday. This was a revenge game for the Knights: when they faced off against the Raiders on Friday, they had to take a 7-6 loss.

David Wignot was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Corey Bean was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Jesus Acuna was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

With the win, Lake Norman Charter broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-9. As for South Rowan, they dropped their record down to 13-11 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road.

As of now, neither Lake Norman Charter nor the Raiders have any future games scheduled.
