Recap: Manzano Monarchs vs. Albuquerque Bulldogs
After flying high against the Del Norte Knights last Thursday, The Manzano Monarchs came back down to earth. Manzano was just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 14-13 to Albuquerque. Manzano gained 185 more yards on the day, but it was Albuquerque that made the best of use of them.
Despite the loss, Manzano still got an impressive performance from Marvin Watson, who rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown.
Albuquerque can attribute much of their success to Frank Hren, who rushed for 98 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries.
Manzano's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Albuquerque, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-6.
Manzano will head out on the road to face off against Valley at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Valley is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games. Albuquerque does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
