Softball Recap: Hayden Wildcats vs. Mission Valley Vikings
Mission Valley typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Hayden proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with an 11-8 win over the Vikings.
Blakely Walter made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Keira Carswell, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one double. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Madelyn Gaggero was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
