Preview: Oxford Wolverines vs. St. Paul Catholic Falcons
Oxford is 0-10 against St. Paul Catholic since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Oxford Wolverines will be home for the holidays to greet the St. Paul Catholic Falcons at 6:00 p.m.
Oxford's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They suffered a rough 75-50 loss at the hands of Kennedy. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Oxford in their matchups with Kennedy: they've now lost nine in a row.
Meanwhile, even though Woodland Regional scored an imposing 59 points on Friday, St. Paul Catholic still came out on top. St. Paul Catholic managed a 63-59 win over Woodland Regional.
Oxford's defeat was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-1. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.4 points per game. As for St. Paul Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Oxford came up short against St. Paul Catholic when the teams last played back in January, falling 69-65. Can Oxford avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
