After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tri-City Christian, Coastal Academy was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Everything went their way against the Valley Center Jaguars as they made off with an 8-1 victory. The Stingrays might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by seven runs or more this season.
Sunday Mcduffee made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Mcduffee was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, Cayla Contreras was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
Coastal Academy's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Valley Center, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coastal Academy will square off against Bishop's at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Valley Center, they will challenge Fallbrook at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Jaguars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season.
