Lakewood is a perfect 7-0 against Mt. Baker since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Lakewood Cougars will challenge the Mt. Baker Mountaineers at 4:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, Lakewood came up short against Cedar Park Christian and fell 10-5. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Riley Pevny made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. MJ Morales was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Mt. Baker gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They put the hurt on Friday Harbor with a sharp 14-4 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Mountaineers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Lakewood beat Mt. Baker 6-2 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will Lakewood repeat their success, or does Mt. Baker have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
