Baseball Game Preview: Bromfield Trojans vs. Maynard Tigers

The Bromfield Trojans will head out on the road to take on the Maynard Tigers at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bromfield is coming into the match hot, having won their last 11 games.

Bromfield had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Narragansett Regional on Monday. The Trojans blew past the Warriors 12-0. Considering the Trojans have won seven contests by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Maynard posted their closest win since April 14th on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Gardner 9-8. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Max Cedeno was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Lawton, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Bromfield's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Maynard, their win bumped their record up to 11-3.

Bromfield took their victory against Maynard when the teams last played two weeks ago by a conclusive 11-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
