Softball Game Preview: West Allegheny Indians vs. South Fayette Lions

The West Allegheny Indians will face off against the South Fayette Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. West Allegheny's pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so South Fayette's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

West Allegheny's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They came out on top against Upper St. Clair by a score of 4-0. That's two games straight that the Indians have won by exactly four runs.

Meanwhile, South Fayette came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Spartans.

West Allegheny is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for South Fayette, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
