Softball Recap: Anderson County Gets the Win

On Monday, the Anderson County Mavericks beat the Ezell-Harding Christian Eagles 7-4. That's two games straight that the Mavericks have won by exactly three runs.

Anderson County got a big performance out of Kaycee Baldwin, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. What's more, Baldwin posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Thurman, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2.

Anderson County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for Anderson County and bumps their season record up to 3-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Ezell-Harding Christian, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Anderson County has already played their next game, a 7-6 victory against Huntsville on the 11th. As for Ezell-Harding Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 24-1 defeat against Tuscaloosa County on the 11th.
