Basketball Recap: Bernalillo Falls to Manzano in First Game of Season

Bernalillo unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through a 63-24 loss at the hands of the Manzano Monarchs. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it 12 in a row.

Bryce Johnson was nothing short of spectacular for Manzano: he shot 58% from the field to rack up 18 points and three steals. The matchup was Johnson's third in a row with at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Jvaughn Johnson, who posted nine points and five boards.

Bernalillo has already played their next contest, a 53-49 victory against Moriarty on the 29th. As for Manzano, they will venture away from home to face off against Cibola at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
